Hand Sanitizer Regulations Canada: Expedite Product License Ended
Health Canada announced that from the 13th of July hand sanitizer regulations measures to expedite hand sanitizer product licenses have been suspended. The decision was made because Health Canada believes that there is enough supply of hand sanitizer in the market.
What does it mean for hand sanitizer manufacturers?
The suspension of the hand sanitizer regulations expedite products means for manufacturers so normal regulations apply in terms of timelines to get the product license.
Manufacturers who have already obtained the license under the interim measures can continue to sell hand sanitizer. A notice will be provided. NHPD will notify these companies new compliance process most probably at the end of the pandemic regarding site license.
For companies who wish to apply for an NHP product or site license, the interim measures are ended so normal processes have to be followed.
Companies producing hand sanitizers have to visit NHPD website and complete a web form to obtain the product license and NPN number. So For site licenses application should follow regulations as per section 28 of the NHPR and be compliant with the good manufacturing practices.
